Usman Mazhar is a researcher at the University of the Punjab with expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI), and environmental data analytics. He earned his academic training from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, where he developed a strong foundation in geospatial technologies and spatial intelligence. His research focuses on applying artificial intelligence and advanced geospatial techniques to address real-world environmental challenges, including flood susceptibility assessment, wildfire mapping, urban environmental monitoring, and climate resilience. He has contributed to high-impact research published in internationally recognized journals and actively engages in interdisciplinary collaborations that integrate AI with Earth observation and spatial data science.

Usman is passionate about leveraging emerging technologies to support sustainable development, disaster risk reduction, and evidence-based decision-making. His work bridges the gap between geospatial research and practical applications, enabling governments, researchers, and organizations to make more informed decisions through intelligent spatial analytics. At the workshop, he will share valuable insights into the transformative role of AI-driven geospatial technologies in solving complex environmental and societal challenges, highlighting current research trends, practical applications, and future opportunities in GeoAI.
